During my time as a business system analyst part of my work included process improvement. Completing tasks within the progressive discipline process, I identified an opportunity to streamline and enhance efficiency through the implementation of automation. I partnered with the process owner to outline the existing challenges and articulate the objectives for the proposed improvement. Following our alignment on the vision, I developed process flow diagrams to depict both the 'current state' and the 'future state,' providing a clear visualization of the proposed enhancements.
After securing approval for the redesigned process, I took the lead in fostering collaboration across all involved teams. I devised a comprehensive roadmap, conducted a high-level review of the process, and performed detailed analyses, including data flow, documentation requirements, and systems integration. This approach ensured a thorough understanding of dependencies and integration needs. To support clarity and decision-making, I utilized visual aids to illustrate key process dependencies and integration points.
To ensure progress and sustained momentum, I established a structured communication framework. This included scheduling weekly stakeholder meetings to report on progress and hosting daily stand-ups to address any roadblocks, prioritize actions, and align on next steps. These efforts ensured a cohesive approach to achieving process improvements and maintaining engagement across all stakeholders.
In the content shared above, there is a diagram example of the previous state and the proposed future state, as well as a Kanban board providing a high-level view for stakeholders of the Backlog, WIP and Done sections in this specific project board.
